Meet the Teenologists

Meet the Teenologists—Shazzer, Fionn, Trish and Mulvey. Together with their friends they have produced for us the essential 'How To' guide to becoming a card-carrying member of the teenage community.

Using charts and diagrams, their simple instructions will allow even the saddest teen to safely navigate those all-important issues of teen life. How to scab money, sleep in class and perfect the ultimate dramatic exit are all covered in depth in this 'Dummies Guide to Teendom'. Trish is the brains, Shazzer has the sass, Fionn's got the superiority complex, and Mulvey... well, Mulvey is just chilled.

Together they give us the low-down on how to coast through even the most cringe-worthy situations of the teenage years with your cool intact.

The series features voices by Sadhbh Ahern, Rory Bresnihan, Allan Keating, Aileen Mythen and Nicky Phelan.

Teenology aired on RTE Two in September 2007.

"Friends and family of older people gave their input on what they used to get up to as teenagers, and it's funny, all the things kids did in the past, they’re still doing now.”—Bronagh O’Hanlon

The 30 x 1’ animated series for young people, created and directed by Bronagh O’Hanlon, features a team of ‘teenologists’, who give a step-by-step guide to correct behaviour for all self-respecting teenagers.

Teenology began production in March of 2007, with animation work continuing over three months, the majority of the work being completed on Flash and Photoshop. O’Hanlon gathered stories of adolescent angst from friends and family when researching the series.

“I talked to friends and we reminisced about time in school. I also interrogated the poor kids that were on work experience for stories, they got their brains picked! Friends and family of older people gave their input on what they used to get up to as teenagers, and it's funny, all the things kids did in the past, they’re still doing now.”—Bronagh O’Hanlon
