The Magic School Bus: Rides Again follows Ms. Frizzle and her students on a new set of wild, science-based adventures aboard the high-tech magical bus.
A modern reboot of the beloved 1990s classic, The Magic School Bus, the show is based on the best-selling books by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen which is one of the most successful children’s science book series of all time.
In this sequel, Professor Valerie Frizzle (voiced by Lily Tomlin) earns her Ph.D. and passes the keys of the Magic School Bus to her younger sister, Miss Fiona Frizzle, voiced by Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters). Together with the class, Fiona leads thrilling field trips to explore space, ecosystems, magnetism, and more—bringing STEM concepts to life through imaginative adventures.
Produced as a Netflix Original by Scholastic Entertainment, 9 Story Media Group, with animation services by our Brown Bag Films' Toronto studio, the series spans three seasons plus four 45-minute specials.
The voice cast includes Kate McKinnon as Fiona Frizzle, Lily Tomlin as Professor Frizzle, Gabby Clarke as Dorothy Ann, Lynsey Pham as Wanda, Mikaela Blake as Keesha, Leke Maceda-Rustecki as Carlos, Birva Pandya as Jyoti, and Miles Koseleci-Vieira as Arnold. Music is composed by Peter Lurye, with the iconic theme song performed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Our Brown Bag Films Toronto studio also produced four specials for The Magic School Bus: Rides Again series: "Kids in Space," "The Frizz Connection," and "In the Zone," which premiered on Netflix in 2020, and "Goldstealer," which was released on a DVD. These 45-minute specials continued the science-based adventures of the show and were dedicated to the original author, Joanna Cole.
